MEDIATION

At any stage of dissolution proceedings, families may elect—or the court may refer parties—to mediation. Mediation is a form of alternative dispute resolution in which the parties can reach an agreement on contested issues in a less adversarial settling. With the help of a neutral mediator, the parties have more freedom to communicate and come to an agreement.

*Parties need not be represented by counsel in order to utilize the services of Family Meetiation so either individuals or their counsel can schedule a mediation

 Parenting Plan

Custody battles in Florida can be very involved. They can be stressful for both the separating couple and the involved children. Florida law prioritizes the wellbeing of the child in these types of cases, and generally, abides by the idea that maintaining contact with both parents is in the child’s best interest. Courts work within strict and clear guidelines to determine what is best for a child in terms of their parenting plan during a divorce

Modifications of Support and Time Sharing

Partners facing divorce can benefit from experienced mediation to address parenting, child support, and time sharing in a way that benefits and satisfies both parties and puts the children first, when applicable.

Paternity cases

Sometimes, part of child support and child custody cases involves addressing the issue of paternity. This area of family law can be difficult for everyone involved, but it is necessary in some cases to take this important step before any decisions about child support are made or after child support is in place but one parent has a doubt about paternity. Going to mediation to deal with questions surrounding paternity and child support is similar to any other mediation experience.
